We see many children at Bright Smiles for their check-ups, preventive care and treatment as their “dental home”. We like to see kids as early as possible (from their first tooth) so we can help start a lifelong healthy smile, but it’s never too late to join us!
We are a registered provider with ACC and provide emergency dental care and ongoing support following an accident. This is an area that we have a lot of experience in and care for many children following accidents.
We understand that dental emergencies can be stressful experiences and we always give priority to patients who have experienced dental trauma or are in pain. Please let us know when you call if this is the case.
Most costs are covered by ACC and we do not charge a co-payment.
We refer to orthodontic specialists for advice and braces if needed however, Dr Ellen offers orthodontic services for less complicated problems at Bright Smiles. Please ask us for more information.
For teens, from Year 9 at school until their 18th birthday, check-ups and most dental treatment is free at Bright Smiles. Once a year we offer a full check-up which includes x-rays, fluoride, fissure sealants, cleaning and preventive advice (as needed). If other treatment is required we’ll see you for another visit.
A lot of patients we see are referred from other dentists, orthodontists or the Community Dental Service but you can also refer yourself (however fees may apply).
The first step is to arrange a consultation visit. This is a chance to meet, take a look and discuss the reasons for the referral and how we can help. Together, we’ll come up with a plan that suits your (or your child’s) individual needs.
We’re more than happy to keep seeing our regular teenage patients after turning 18 or we can refer to a general dentist if moving out of town.
